Priyanka Chopra pays tribute to MJ

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra says it was pop legend Michael Jackson's songs that made her start loving music.

"You never know what you have until it's gone - music just doesn't sound the same without Michael Jackson. He was the reason I started to love music," said Priyanka.

"His everlasting songs Beat it, Bad, Thriller, Black or White, Heal the world, etc and a multitude of his other music, will be an important part of my playlist forever. The world has lost its greatest performer and he will be missed forever," she added.

Jackson left the world in a shock when he died of a cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home last week.

According to sources, “The movie Victory was facing some production hassles and now they are finding it difficult to find buyers, especially since the industry is also reeling under the impact of the recession in the market. Although the movie is backed by Adlabs; they are having trouble selling it. That Harman’s last movie was a non starter is also a factor. Distributors who had earlier shown interest have now backed out and agree to come back in on the deal if they are offered heavy cuts in the price”.

To save the movie from being drowned and attract distributors, Harman approached Priyanka darling to shake her legs for a number and Priyanka like a dedicated, caring and loving girlfriend all set to help Harman neglecting her present status and her past two hits Karan Johan’s Dostana and Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion.

To start their Indian stint, ‘Blender’ has chosen Priyanka Chopra as the cover girl.

Yes, the renowned music magazine ‘Blender’ has got Piggy Chops to be the face of their first Indian edition’s cover page. The famous men’s magazine Maxim is Blender’s sister publication.

Blender launches its Indian version with tag - ‘India’s Coolest Music Magazine’. The magazine cover page says ‘Starring Priyanka’. Priyanka Chopra’s two consecutive hits Fashion and Dostana has put the lady on the top. Shahrukh Khan recently addressed her as ’The Sexiest Indian Actress’.

For the magazine’s cover, Priyanka sported tattered denims with an unconventional narrow semi-poncho kind of green top, while her make-up was kept simple, with her hair pinned-up in a normal style.

The magazine promises to present the musical side of the actress. International music divas like Britney Spears and Leona Lewis have been featured on the cover page of Blender earlier and now our Piggy Chops is on the list.

Very recently, Priyanka Chopra was roped in to be the ‘Goddess of Atlantis’ for the launch of lavish resort Atlantis in Dubai.

Priyanka upset with 'A' for "Fashion"

The lady who’s been making a statement with her next offering "Fashion" is Priyanka Chopra, and she expresses her displeasure on the ’A’ certificate given to the film.

Speaking on the ’A’ certificate for "Fashion", Priyanka said, "I am upset about it. I don’t think the film has anything snesational for the censor board to give an ’A’ certificate. But the censor board’s decision is always respected."

Speaking further, Priyanka said, "There is nothing sexual int eh film. My be the drug sequences made the censor board to issue the ’A’ certificate. There is nothing sensational, sexual or bold in the film. If the people think this way, it is complete misconception."

Clearing the air on her going anorexic, Priyanka replied, "I had green curry and steam rice for lunch. I am extremely Punjabi in my mind. I don’t encourage unhealthy means of losing weight. I don’t like size zero and I don’t consider it as beautiful."

On the release date of "Fashion" matching with Kareena Kapoor’s "Golmaal Returns, Priyanka said, "The films are going to be speaking for each other. However, I wish Kareena the best."

Priyanka Chopra goes bold and beautiful

Ravishing Priyanka Chopra will be next seen in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion and Tarun Manshukhani’s Dostana. In both the films, she will be seen at her sexy best. She will be too hot to handle in both beach attire and in skimpy costume as she walks the ramp. In those films, Piggy Chops has almost shed off her sweet next gal image and gone bold and beautiful. Happy on receiving ’A’ certificate, Priyanka said, "I respect what the Censor Board has decided. Fashion is a realistic film that scares people so may be that’s why the certificate was given."

She further added, "We have worked really hard on the film, worked late nights so hope it works because it is a special film." Speaking about her sexy get-up in Dostana, she quipped, "If you go to a beach you will wear a bikini not denim." Here’s coming up Priyanka in a brand new sexy avatar.

Priyanka's Fashion in trouble

Madhur Bhandarkar is a worried man. The post-production of Fashion is not yet complete. First, actress Priyanka Chopra had a very bad throat because of which she had to cancel the dubbing of of the film and now the film industry’s workers’ strike has put further pressure the movie.

Says Madhur, "Our release is on October 29, that’s Wednesday, so we got a long Diwali weekend for our film. There’s no way we could cancel. However, the workers’ strike brought everything to a grinding halt."

Madhur feels films on release should have been exempted from the strike. "Films like Fashion, EMI and Golmaal Returns, which are all releasing during Diwali, have huge stakes. We can’t afford to fall back. So maybe the strike should not be applicable to films on release. However, people like Mahesh Bhatt and Ashok Pundit worked hard at a solution to the strike.

The situation does seem worrying for Madhur Bhandarkar. Priyanka’s bad throat started with all the screaming she did for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey. Says Madhur, "Priyanka did dub a bit on Thursday after her voice improved. But now she can’t until the strike is over. I’m ready to do the dubbing with all the artistes in different studios to save time. But the strike has to be over."

Apparently, Priyanka is pitching her naturalistic performance in Fashion as a Chandigarh girl aspiring to be a super-model at a National award. "I wouldn’t like to comment on that yet. That’s a decision I’ll leave to the jury. But Priyanka has connected with emotions in Fashion that she has never shown on screen before. And she’s a perfectionist," added Madhur.

According to a source, Priyanka will portray 12 roles, each of them characterising 12 different zodiac signs. This will be for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s next directorial What’s Your Rashee? The source adds, “Ashutosh hasn’t disclosed much on what he wants to do but as far as the talks are concerned, there’s a huge possibility that Priyanka Chopra will play 12 different characters in the film. Each one of them will have a trait that is associated with people belonging to a particular raashee.”

What’s Your Raashee? is inspired from US based Gujarati writer Madhu Rye’s novel Kimball Ravenswood in which the author creates a wide array of characters and sets up some devilishly comical plots through the novel.

Harman-Priyanka's break up

Priyanka Chopra is a shining star and Harman Baweja is a struggling actor. Professional grading seems to have come in the way of the couple and they are heading towards spiltville. Priyanka Chopra in swimsuit for Dostana

Although Priyanka Chopra had decided not to do a lip lock or don a bikini on screen, she has agreed to get into a swimsuit for Karan Johar’s romantic comedy Dostana.

"Karan Johar didn’t ask me to wear a bikini. But this is a beach movie. So it’s only natural that I get into beachwear. And I don’t mind at all. Because everyone else will be wearing even tinier clothes," said Priyanka.

The Bollywood beauty says she had a ball with co-stars Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. "I’ve worked with Abhishek and John before. But never like this. Their bonding is infectious. Dostana was one big party. It’s a beachside sporty film. And I’m very much a water babe.

"The director Tarun Mansukhani is new but his wit sparkles. He’s written a really urbane tongue-in-cheek comedy."

Priyanka can’t stop raving about the new love in her life. "No, his name isn’t Harman Baweja. It’s someone called Boo, a pet robot teddy bear who accompanies me everywhere in Love Story 2050. He’s all pink and the cutest creature on earth. I want to take him home."

She added, "I was aware of Boo from the time he was conceived. It was Harman’s sister Rowena who thought of Boo. I’ve watched Boo acquire a life right in front of me. So it’s quite an exciting process."

So attached has Priyanka become to Boo that she wanted to carry him home after the shooting. And the Bawejas (Harry and Harman) who’ve watched Priyanka stand by their project from the time Kareena Kapoor opted out were only too happy to let her have Boo.

"This was one film that’s filled with gadgets and electronic toys. But Boo is special because he is mine." Talking about her stint with sci-fi films, she said, "Love Story 2050 is my second hi-tech film after Krrish. And I’m doing one more, Drona. But Love Story was special because I did my career’s first double role with two different looks for the two halves set in two different periods. Boo was part of my futuristic look."

"When FX turned a corner with Krrish, I was part of it. Now when it somersaults with Love Story 2050 and Drona I’m part of both. Am I proud to be in these projects, or not?"

Harman's special gift for Priyanka's birthday

Harman Baweja, who is on a family holiday in Dubai, intends to go shopping for his girlfriend Priyanka Chopra whose birthday is round the corner.

"I don’t know as yet what I’ll get her. But girls like anything you give then in a gift-wrap and with a smile, trust me on that," Harman told IANS. Harman teamed up with Priyanka, whose birthday is July 18, in his debut film "Love Story 2050".

Talking about the family holiday, Harman said: "Just the four of us - dad, mom, my sister Rowena and me. We took off for a five-day trip to Dubai. We all needed the break. "The last two years and particularly the last few weeks have been very stressful for all of us. So here we are, just chilling and shopping. Actually the ladies are doing all the shopping. I’m just their bag boy."

Released on July 4, "Love Story 2050" was panned by critics and audiences too gave it a cold shoulder but Harman is taking the criticism positively."In the past two weeks, I’ve learnt so much about life. I think I’m much wiser now."
